The premier show in Kerala to focus on waste management and cleaning technologies.
Kochi will witness Kerala’s premier business-to-business meet dedicated to waste management and cleaning technologies on August 8-10, 2013. Clean Kerala 2013 will focus on the latest innovations in personal, domestic, industrial and municipal cleaning. On show will be everything from e-waste management and automobile cleaning to pest control and pet hygiene.
“Events like Clean Kerala can help make our state a cleaner place by introducing latest techniques and technologies in waste management and hygiene,” said the Excise, Ports and Fisheries Minister, Shri K Babu, who unveiled the logo of the three-day international show in Kochi on Thursday.
More than 100 companies and consultancies from all over India and abroad will participate in Clean Kerala 2013 at Kokers Media City, Kaloor. They will showcase the latest innovation and equipment that could be utilized to keep our communities, enterprises and households cleaner and healthier. In a nutshell, the show offers consumers a one-stop shop for all their cleaning needs.
Clean Kerala 2013, supported by various government agencies, trade bodies and residents’ associations, is an attempt to offer solutions for the problems of waste management and public sanitation. While half the cure lies in policymaking and public awareness, we believe we can find answers from experiences from across the globe.
“The main challenge facing local self-governance bodies is a lack of modern equipment to collect and treat waste. We can make a difference with such an initiative and the cooperation with civic bodies,” said the Kochi mayor, Shri Tony Chammany, who unveiled an awareness campaign organized by Kerala State Pollution Control Board and Enieo in the run-up to the show.

B Bhadra, Thrikakkara Municipality Chairman Shri P I Mohammedali, Thrikakkara Municipality Health Standing Committee Chairman Shri V D Suresh, Kalamassery Municipality Standing Committee Chairman Shri. A K Basheer, Counselor Shri. Noushad Pallachi , Asst. Environmental Engineer Kerala State Pollution Control Board Smt. Mini, Clean Kerala Project Director Shri. Nazeeb Peediyakkal, also spoke on the occasion.
Clean Kerala is conceived as a talking show. It will bring together all stakeholders and arrive at a consensus between public needs and business concerns. A series of seminars are planned to focus on the challenges faced by industries such as healthcare, hospitality and information technology.
